Ten Months of Jackson Nicholas

Jackson Nicholas is 10 months old today, so that means it's time for his monthly update!

This month was a really big one for our Baby Jack.

Jackson likes:

  • Jackson always has loved to be right in the middle of the action, and that remains the case. He will crawl around to be closer to his people...especially to his big brother.
  • He loves bath time with Sammy.
  • He loves listening to books! His eyes get really big and he makes all sorts of noises when he listens to a story.

Jackson dislikes:

  • Jack likes to be held by his mama and sometimes gets really offended when I set him down. 😂

Eating:

  • Jack still prefers his "milky" but has made some improvements with solids this month. He really loves to eat my homemade sourdough bread.
  • This was a big month for Jack as he was officially diagnosed with FPIES (Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome). He saw an allergist on March 19th, and had some further testing done. At this point, we know that he is allergic to oats and rice, so he must avoid all foods with those ingredients to avoid reactions. I shared more about Jack's FPIES Diagnosis here if you'd like to learn more about it.

Activities:

  • Jack is moving all over the place! He is army crawling and just starting to crawl on his hands and knees.
  • He is beginning to pull himself up on things, but mostly he pulls himself up on us.
  • His best party trick is shaking his head "no" when we say "no, no, no."
  • He can say "Mama," "Dada," and "Dog Dog." When he sees our dog Roo, he will sign "dog" and say "dog dog."
  • Anything big brother has, Jackson wants. Who needs baby toys, anyways?
  • This month Jack got his top two teeth, and his eye teeth are starting to come in as well.
  • He's got lots of light blonde hair coming in, and his eyes are big and blue!
I can't believe Jack is turning 10 months old! This time last year we were putting the finishing touches on our nursery, and I was just nesting away. We have a hard time remembering what life was like without him. 😊

Here are some of my favorite pictures from this month:

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
