Three Months of Jackson Nicholas

Three months have passed since baby Jack was born, and I can't believe it! Here are some updates about our baby boy.

Jackson likes:

  • Watching big brother do ANYTHING
  • Drinking milky
  • Watching daddy and brother make silly faces and noises
  • Listening to stories

Jackson dislikes:

  • Extended car rides
  • When a feeding is a minute late

Eating:

Jack continues to be a really good eater! He has a few bottles of breastmilk a week to practice for when he goes to childcare. During the day he nurses about every 2 hours and he is starting to get some chunky rolls on his legs and arms - my FAVORITE!

Sleeping:

Jackson has been going to bed in the evening around 7:45-8, and sleeps through until about 4/4:30. He'll nurse at that point and quickly go back to sleep until around 6:45. He is sleeping in his basinet during the night, but sleeps in his crib for naps during the day.

Sammy was (and still is) able to fall asleep in any location, but we're finding that Jackson prefers a quiet room with a sound machine to sleep. Dustin and I think Jack is too interested in big brother and doesn't want to miss a thing - that's why his crib is better for sleep during the day...less distractions. :)

Activities:

Jack is a really content little guy. He loves being surrounded by the action of his brother and tracks him with his eyes from wherever he's at. He loves to wiggle on his playmat and kick his bell, and smiles when you talk to him. When he smiles he'll crinkle his nose. It's so cute! We got our first true giggle out of him this week...one of the best sounds in the world!

He is beginning to reach for toys with his hands and is rolling over here and there. Jack doesn't mind tummy time, but prefers to do it on my lap so he can watch big brother at eye level.

This month he's enjoyed plenty of stroller rides and snuggles in the baby wrap. Jackson also LOVES bath time. He's taken a few baths in the tub with Sammy which has been Sammy's favorite thing in the world! For ease, I typically bathe him in the sink, but he's quickly outgrowing it. When I get ready to put him in the water he arches his back as if he's not sure if the water is going to be cold or not. Once he realizes that it's a warm temperature he settles in and relaxes.

I really can't imagine not having him in our family. He has been the perfect little addition! Here are some of my favorite pictures from this month:

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
