Friday Favorites [8-9-2024]

It's Friday! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from my week.

I don't even know HOW it happened, but this is my last official week of summer. Can you hear me crying from wherever you are? 😅 June passed slowly, but July and August flew. I know that I will blink and the upcoming week will be over.

We've just been over here trying to soak in all that's left of summer. 😉

On August 6th, Dustin and I celebrated 8 years of marriage! We celebrated with our first date night in an entire calendar year. With Jack's allergies and Dustin's crazy work schedule, we find it so hard to get out just the two of us. It's a goal of ours to make it a priority this year!

Sammy's Kindergarten backpack, lunchbox and thermos came and he couldn't have been more excited. We loaded up all of his supplies and he is ready. Me on the other hand? I need someone to come over here and hold me. Haha.

Smiley boys at the park are one of my very favorite things. Look at these sweet brothers!

You can't see Sammy's face in this picture, but he had the biggest grin on his face. He loved showing little brother the ropes at the park!

I made the YUMMIEST pizza this week! I made a homemade crust using some sourdough discard. Then I topped it with a buttery-garlicky sauce, sweet corn, roasted red peppers, bacon, green onion and cheese. It was delish! The perfect way to eat up some fresh Iowa sweet corn. 😉

Jack "feeding" one of my childhood baby dolls was another favorite of the week. I loved this sweet smile.

I'm off for the weekend! My goal for this weekend is to finish my summer to-do list so I can enjoy some fun the remainder of the week. I'm guessing this will happen at some point, too...

...it's my favorite cure for the Back to School Blues. 😅 Have the best weekend! XX

Happy anniversary to you and Dustin, how lovely that you had a date night.
Aww! Sammy's backpack is almost as big as him.
    The boys are just adorable.

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
