Eight months of Jackson Nicholas

Our baby boy is EIGHT months old today! I absolutely love this stage in his development, but I am sad that the newborn snuggles are behind us. Motherhood is a trip. 😅

Jackson likes:

  • Jack really loves to be where the action is, and is fascinated with big brother and big brother's toys.
  • Jack loves to crawl and sit up!
  • Jack really loves bathtime and the splashing that goes along with it. It look like I've been sitting in the splash zone at Sea World when bath time is over for the boys. Haha

Jackson dislikes:

  • Jack is really pretty easygoing, and doesn't dislike a whole lot! He's happy to be wherever his people are, and even takes a bottle for Dustin these days. Yay!

Eating:

  • This month, we've noticed a pattern with some recurrent vomiting following consumption of certain types of food. We are predicting that Jack has FPIES (Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome), as he matches about every symptom listed. He has had 4 episodes of severe vomiting after consuming items that contain oat and rice (baby oatmeal, rice teething rusks, and puffs). We were referred to an allergist, and are looking forward to receiving more guidance soon.
  • The foods that Jack tolerates well are avocado, broccoli, bananas, strawberries, applesauce, and breastmilk. Thankfully my milk supply is great, and he can have plenty of it!

Sleeping:

  • We've learned this month that Jack really prefers to sleep in his crib with his sleep sack and sound machine. He doesn't do great with naps on the go.
  • He is down to two naps a day (usually), and goes to bed between 6:30-7PM. He's always up for the day by 6:30AM.

Activities:

  • Jack has made tremendous strides in his physical development this month! He is army crawling and sitting independently. He is able to "rock" up on all fours as well.
  • He loves to "play" with Sammy's toys (they are much better than brother's toys 😉).
  • He loves tags and ribbons on toys and blankets. He always manages to find them and likes to chew on them.
  • He is starting to be able to clap whenever we clap and say "yay!" It's pretty cute. 😊
  • We really loved all of our bonus days together with the snow days. We had lots of time to snuggle and play!
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the month of January:

Friday Favorites [3-1-2024]

It's Friday and I'm here sharing my favorites from the week. As usual, I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika . Here we go!  My very first favorite is that Jack is 9 months old today! I can't believe he's been "out" for as long as I was pregnant with him. 😊 He is the happiest little baby, and we just can't imagine life without him. I shared a little monthly update on the blog today as well.  Another favorite is that Sammy lost his second tooth over the weekend. He pulled it out himself! I told him that pretty soon he won't have any teeth left. 😉 An easy sheet meal dinner was perfect for our Wednesday night. I took some italian chicken sausage, sweet potato gnocchi, and green beans, plus a little olive oil and seasonings and roasted it up for about 20 minutes. Sammy loves chicken sausages, so a fuss-free dinner is always a win in my book.  We put out some St. Patrick's Day books over the weekend and have been enjoying reading them. I keep a

Hello, Friday. It's always nice to see you. 😉 I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from my week. Here we go!  My first favorites are these sweet Easter pictures. We had a fun weekend celebrating! I love any reason for my little boys to get dressed up and get a cute picture. 😉 Another favorite on April 1st was celebrating Jack's 10 month birthday! I can't believe in two months he will be one. I loved this picture showing off his top two teeth.  3 years ago, my family was at one of our favorite places...Disney World! We went to Florida over Easter in 2021 with my extended family and it was a fun little trip. This trip was rescheduled from March of 2020, and I love seeing all of the memories from our trip. Sammy looks SO LITTLE.  In this picture we were riding Dumbo. I remember that Sammy got off the ride and promptly asked to go again. Haha.  We made my  Easy Weeknight Tostadas  on Tuesday of this week and they were a hit! We loved this eas

Friday Favorites [5-3-2024]

Yay! It's Friday and it's the month of MAY! Both of those things are very good things in my book. Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from the week.  On Monday I shared that we had a busy weekend! My mom and I hosted a Bridal Shower for my sweet cousin Caitlin, and then our new niece and nephew were baptized on Sunday. It was a fun (but tiring) way to spend the weekend!  Jack especially loved all of the family time, and was happy to sneak in some giggles with Great Grandma before the shower began. 😉 We whipped up these  Burrito Bowls  for dinner one night this week, and it was a new favorite. It was such an easy meal that Dustin and I both loved!  It's May, which means that it's time for me to read "Charlotte's Web" to my class. I read it every year during the month of May! This book has seen much better years - I think it's time for a new copy. Haha.  The boys and I love to play in the basement, where most of
