Four Months of Jackson Nicholas

Our baby Jack is four months old today! Isn't it funny how one day you have a baby, and the next, you just can't remember what life was like without them? Here are some updates about our boy.

Jackson likes:

  • Watching his brother - if Sammy is in the room, Jack is looking for him!
  • Rolling around on his playmat. He can roll from back to belly, and belly to back.
  • LOVES his milky. He takes his feeding times very seriously.

Jackson dislikes:

  • Car rides of any length. It's a struggle at this point. 😅

Eating:

Very few things get in the way of Jack's eating times. Dustin has been off with Jack for about 2 weeks and he fussed about taking a bottle a bit. Dustin's method for him to take the bottle was to stand in front of a picture of me while he drank it. However silly it is - it worked. Haha! Jack is still a really great nurser.

Sleeping:

We've got a boy who sleeps through the night! He is usually down for the night around 7:30 and sleeps until around 4:30. He'll nurse at that point, then go back to sleep until 6:30.

His wake windows during the day are about 1.5 hours at this point, and he naps in his crib. Jack sleeps in the bassinet in our room overnight. I probably need to move him into his room overnight to sleep (he's quickly outgrowing the bassinet), but I'm not quite ready to do that just yet. 😉 Sometimes his last nap of the day will be while I'm wearing him and cooking dinner. He loves to be snuggled up in the baby wrap.

Activities:

Jack is rolling from his belly to his back a ton, and sometimes rolls from his back to his belly. While he is wiggling around on his mat, he uses his feet to try and scooch around. His pediatrician said that second born children, especially boys, tend to meet their physical milestones early, which checks out with Jack! He babbles and squeals and tells us big stories all day long. He has the biggest blue eyes and lots of blonde hair is coming in.

Jack really loves to be held upright so he can check out what's going on around him. He continues to love bath time and being outside. Jack will start at childcare on Monday. Sammy is super excited to have him there with him. This marks the last of our "transitions" we've had as a family since Jack was born 4 months ago. He's such a lucky baby to have had such a long time at home with his family.

We have his four month appointment this week, and I can't wait to see how much he's grown! He's getting some pretty big rolls on his arms and thighs. I love it!

Here are some of my favorite photos from the last month:

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
