Friday Favorites [9-13-2024]

HOORAY for Friday. ๐Ÿ˜Š I couldn't be more excited for the weekend ahead! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some of my favorite "happies" from the week.

We had THE BEST weekend last weekend! Saturday morning we were up and out the door early for a trip to Trader Joe's where we filled out cart with all the pumpkin-goodness we could find.

We were home by 11 and decided it was time to put some more fall decor outside...

...to the delight of the boys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We have an inflatable dachshund (of course we do) that says "Happy Fall-oween!" It's a favorite of the boys for sure.

A trip to Trader Joe's means that my family is having yummy (easy!) dinners during the week. I made a ridiculously easy Potsticker Stir Fry for an easy dinner this week while Dustin worked late. We also made some yummy flat breads using their Carne Asada, chimichurri sauce and arugula. This one was our FAVORITE!

Jack's favorite thing to do these days is be a tornado, Haha. He is FAST and likes to get into EVERYTHING! This was my sight when I followed him into the bathroom this week. That grin!!

Sammy has never been a kid who loves to draw or write (he'd rather use play-doh), but Kindergarten has changed that in him! He is drawing so much more, and it's exciting for me to watch. He drew a picture of us "going to the airport" on this day. So cute!

Crack Corn was Dustin's favorite this week! It is the yummiest, most pot-luck friendly recipe...perfect for a tailgate!

One last favorite for the week. This picture screams "second child" to me. In one hand he's holding a cone, and the other a rock from our rock bed. Haha!

Have the best weekend, everyone! See you back here on Monday. XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one ๐Ÿ˜‰] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. ๐Ÿ˜Š I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. ๐Ÿ˜‰ He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
