Hello, Friday. It's nice to finally see you. πŸ˜‰ Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some Friday Favorites from the week. Let's go!

First up, I was recently featured as a guest blogger with Des Moines Mom. In this article, I share a story and a lesson my family experienced at Christmas last year. I hope you read it, enjoy it, and feel inspired about the upcoming holiday season.

Seasonal items are starting to drop in stores, and these Dove Chocolates are one of my VERY FAVORITE seasonal treats. My mom loves them as well and brought a bag by this week. I may or may not have hidden them from the rest of my family. πŸ˜‚

I did a little comparison picture of Sammy and Jack at 5 months. When they were newborns they looked basically identical, but you can see a difference here! They definitely look a lot alike, but I think Jack favors me a bit more than Sammy does.

Jack is working so hard on sitting up! Look at the concentration on his face. It's so fun to watch him work towards meeting milestones!

I love the daily photo flashbacks I get with my Amazon Photos account. Look at this sweet picture of Sammy! I think he was about 2 here, and I had just done his hair in the morning. Ugh - where did my baby go?!

Over the weekend I made homemade rolls to go along with a crockpot of vegetable and hamburger soup. If you are tasked with bringing rolls to a Thanksgiving dinner, give this recipe a try! It makes a really fluffy dinner roll. Fresh bread is always a favorite in my book.

We also put up our Christmas tree over the weekend! It was a little impulsive of us. Dustin and I had talked about when we would put our tree up, decided we'd do it at some point in the future, and then he went to sleep (since he works overnights). When he woke up that afternoon it was like Santa's workshop in our living room. πŸ˜‚ Sammy had asked if we could decorate and it was an easy yes for me!

This week we voted, and our voting place is located very near to our home. We loaded up the boys and walked there enjoying the crisp November air. It was a simple highlight of my week!

That's all for this week! Tonight, I have a friend coming over for some wine and snacks, and then we have the normal weekend activities filling the rest of our weekend. Have a great weekend! XX

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. πŸ˜‰ D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one πŸ˜‰] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. πŸ˜‰ We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
