A little bit of Life Lately...

It's November 9th, and it baffles me to think that next week we will be halfway through the month of November. Time goes so quickly!

I wanted to share a few things about life lately at the Brisel household. 😊

We recently transitioned Jack to sleeping in his crib all night long, rather than in the crib or bassinet in our bedroom. He has had a few rough nights of sleep, but for the most part has done really well. Maybe it's because Dustin works overnights, but I really miss Jack's company in our room at night! I know he is much more comfortable in his crib though - there's a lot more room to spread out. 😉

Sammy had a dentist appointment this week for his regularly scheduled cleaning. The dentist found that Sammy is already getting his six year old molars (one is completely through, the other is on it's way through)...and Sammy just turned 5. There was a period of about 2 weeks that Sammy really struggled sleeping at night (no sleep seems to be a theme at the Brisel house 😂) and I'm guessing that was when his molar was coming through. Poor buddy!

Jack is starting to practice sitting up, and is getting pretty good at it! He can sit up for a few seconds unassisted. You can tell he is really concentrating when he sits. It's pretty hard work. 😉

We put our Christmas tree up this weekend and did some decorating. I know it seems early, but Dustin works pretty much every weekend between now and Christmas - plus, we needed some twinkle lights in our lives. 😉 Jack loves to look at the tree and Sammy is so excited about the upcoming season.

I've done a little shopping for Christmas, but I need to kick it into high gear. Pretty soon this is going to be the reality at our house. Haha! I don't love to be a last minute shopper. I like a lot of time to be really thoughtful about the gifts given, and I absolutely LOVE wrapping them. My favorite thing is to turn on a really great Christmas movie, pour a little glass of something tasty, and wrap gifts.

That's all for today...see you back here tomorrow for Friday Favorites! XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
