Friday Favorites 10-6-2023

Happy Friday! There's a chill in the air in Iowa this week, and I couldn't be more giddy about it. Here's some Friday Favorites to close out our week! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika

Baby Jack started at childcare this week and it has been going SO WELL. We couldn't be more thankful for our provider! She sends us pictures and videos often throughout the day, and Baby Jack looks like he is having a great time. Sammy is so excited about his little brother being there with him.

Have you seen my post sharing some of my favorite memories from this season of life? I wrote down a few things I wanted to remember. You can read all about them here

Colder weather = soup for dinner! We had Trader Joe's Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato soup for dinner this week with some grilled cheese sandwiches on the side. A favorite for sure!

On the mornings Sammy has preschool he comes to school with me until Dustin is off from his overnight shift as a police officer. We do a parking lot trade-off and Dustin grabs him to take him to preschool. Sammy loves these mornings because they usually involve a stop at the gas station for a donut. 😉 I love spending a little 1:1 time with my biggest boy!

I made the best apple crisp over the weekend. I doubled the crisp (because that's my favorite part) and added in some caramel bits. It was heavenly! Find my recipe here

First grade students are my FAVORITE! I had a sweet little friend make me a friendship bracelet in preparation of her going to see the Taylor Swift concert movie this weekend. So precious!

Sammy wrapped up his football camp on Monday evening and received a certificate for his participation. Dustin sent me this picture and my response was: "Is that sweat on his hair?" The answer was "yes." He went straight to the tub once he arrived home. Haha! He really loved "playing" football this fall, and will miss this fun little camp he participated in.

Awww. Matching pajamas and freshly bathed babies are my absolute favorite thing in the world! I just love how sweet they are here. I'm certain I'll need to show them this photo when they are bickering in the future. 😉

That's all for the week! My Aunt Becky is in town visiting this week, so I'm looking forward to some extra family time. Have a great weekend! See you back here on Monday. XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
