Things I want to remember...

It's October, the leaves are starting to change, and the weather is finally cooperating. Jack has started childcare and Dustin is back to work after 3 weeks of vacation, and we're settling into our grove and reality as a family of four. As we enter another season I wanted to record some memories of things I want to remember at this moment in life.

#1 Gummy Smiles

I just don't know if there's much better than gummy smiles and baby giggles. Right now Jack is full of both of them! He loves when you kiss his cheeks by his neck and just giggles away. The best sound of the world!

#2 Sammy's Giving Spirit

Sammy loves, loves, loves the teachers in his life. He is always trying to pack treats to take to them at preschool, or at his babysitter's home. I'll catch him shopping in the pantry and he'll say, "But mommy, my teacher LOVES these!" I love how thoughtful and generous he is.

#3 Morning Stretches

One of the things babies know how to do well is to luxuriate in a stretch. When Jack starts waking up for the day he'll scrunch his body into a ball and raise his arms up around his head. Then he'll do a big stretch length-wise, then he'll do another stretch to the other side. We all need to take notes from the babies and stretch more. 😉

#4 Sammy's dinnertime antics

Sammy loves to play a prank, and does them every night at dinner. His favorite thing to do is to wait for Dustin to get up from the table, then he swaps their plates, or cups or silverware. The funny part is that Dustin is very aware of what Sammy is doing but still manages to act surprised for him every.single.night.. Haha! Another prank he often plays is setting a stuffed animal in someone's chair - that way instead of sitting on a chair you'll end up sitting on a stuffy. He cackles and thinks he is the FUNNIEST in the world when he plays his pranks.

That's a little update from our home. XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
