Friday Favorites [5-3-2024]

Yay! It's Friday and it's the month of MAY! Both of those things are very good things in my book. Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from the week.

On Monday I shared that we had a busy weekend! My mom and I hosted a Bridal Shower for my sweet cousin Caitlin, and then our new niece and nephew were baptized on Sunday. It was a fun (but tiring) way to spend the weekend!

Jack especially loved all of the family time, and was happy to sneak in some giggles with Great Grandma before the shower began. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We whipped up these Burrito Bowls for dinner one night this week, and it was a new favorite. It was such an easy meal that Dustin and I both loved!

It's May, which means that it's time for me to read "Charlotte's Web" to my class. I read it every year during the month of May! This book has seen much better years - I think it's time for a new copy. Haha.

The boys and I love to play in the basement, where most of their toys are. Have you heard of the Nugget Couch? It's one of our most versatile toys. You can arrange it to make all sorts of structures. We had set it up as a slide, and Sammy rolled down it with the bean bag on top of him. He said, "look out, it's a Sammy sandwich!"

Baby Jack turned eleven months this week, and I'm in denial that he is turning a year old on June 1st. This year has really flown by. We've started planning his first birthday party. So much fun!

And for fun, here's a little comparison picture of both of my boys at 11 months. You can absolutely tell that they're siblings! I'd love to go back and squeeze Baby Sammy again.

What's everybody up to this weekend? We have NOTHING on the calendar, which I am SO EXCITED about. I need to play catch-up and get ourselves pointed in the right direction again. Have a happy Friday, see you back here Monday! XX

  2. Your little guy is a cutie! Charlotte's Web is still one of my favorites and is a tale that never grows old. Enjoy a weekend with nothing on the calendar. They are so necessary now and then. I hopped over from the Friday Favorites link up this week.

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. ๐Ÿ˜Š Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. ๐Ÿ˜‰ D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one ๐Ÿ˜‰] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. ๐Ÿ˜Š I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
