Friday Favorites [5-17-2024]

Yay for Friday! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from this week. Here we go!

It's been a busy week in May. I'm not sure where school gets out where you are from, but in Iowa we have about 2 weeks left. These next 2 weeks will be filled with field trips and all the end of school year "stuff" so I am looking forward to a restful weekend!

Last weekend I made the yummiest sourdough bread. I mixed in blueberries and made a "paste" with butter, cinnamon and granulated sugar. Oh my word, a slice of this bread alongside some eggs has been my favorite part of waking up this week.

Look who learned a new trick! On Thursday I placed Jack in his crib and went to make my bed. When I came back he was standing up, looking quite proud of himself. 😉

Sammy has preschool graduation next week, and my heart can't take it! This picture came home last week and I've been emotional all week thinking about the end of preschool. I'm not ready for it!

Dustin took this picture while grilling one night. Jack is saying, "hey dad, let me out too!"

Have you tried these yet? They are my new favorite Tru Fru flavor. If you've been to Disney World, these taste exactly like a Dole Whip. Yes, please. 😊

Our garden is officially planted, and Sammy couldn't be more proud if he tried. Haha. So far we've got radish and lettuce sprouting!

Scrunchy-nosed baby smiles are another favorite of mine. We were rocking on the porch and he was so happy to be outside enjoying the fresh air!

That's all for this week. I'll be back on Monday! XX

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
