Friday Favorites 2-2-2024

It's Friday again! Our weather in Iowa has been much nicer to us this week, and I'm so glad to be welcoming the weekend. I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some favorites from the week!

The first favorite...

is this glorious weather. I am so thankful that we don't have snow or frigid temperatures in the near future! While I'm certain we haven't seen the last of the winter weather, I am enjoying this nice repreve.

I was able to crack my classroom windows, and while my kids were at specials I could hear the birds chirping! Such a little thing, but believe me, it brought lots of joy.

We celebrated Jack's 8 month birthday on the 1st, and look at this sweet picture! I really enjoy this stage in development. He is so curious, and his personality is really starting to come out.  SO much fun!

Look at this sweet memory! This photo was taken the first few days we got our puppy Roo two years ago. She was so tiny!

Here she is now, catching some snuggles with her little brother. 😉 When we first got her, Sammy was 3. Our vet told us to let Sammy touch her, carry her, and play with her as much as possible. As a result, Roo was raised like she was a 3 year old boy, and she couldn't be more gentle and playful. Haha!

I snapped this photo last Friday, and it's one of my favorites. I love it when I can find the boys matching shirts, and it's only a bonus when they're seasonal!

Sammy's FAVORITE thing was basketball camp this week! He was so excited to show me his new shirt when he got home from practice.

Anyone else love a Subway sandwich? There is one very near my school, so it's a quick lunch option on days I don't have one. Also I love salt and vinegar chips. They are a guilty pleasure for sure.

That's all for this week! This weekend we don't have much planned and I am here for it. See you back here on Monday! XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
