Friday Favorites 1-26-2024

Hello, Friday...it's very nice to see you. This was our first "full" week of school since before Christmas break. We've had cancellations from weather and our schedule has not been consistent. Needless to say, this teacher is TIRED and ready for the weekend. 😉

As usual, I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some Friday Favorites from this week.

I've seen this Overnight Lip Butter on several Instagram accounts that I follow, and was influenced to purchase it. My lips get so dry overnight and I typically use the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. This lip mask has a berry scent/flavor, and slides on really smoothly. I want to give it a week before I report back officially, but so far it is looking like a new favorite.

Thursday morning after I was done exercising I got the call that we had a 2 hour delay due to fog. Two hour delays are God's gifts to teachers. 😉 I was able to enjoy a slow breakfast and quiet time, and some extra play time with my boys. It was the BEST way to start my day.

Sammy is in a little basketball "camp" right now, and absolutely loving it. Dustin takes him each Wednesday night for about 45 minutes. Sammy comes home sweaty and EXHAUSTED! It is so fun to see your kids pursue their interests as they get older.

While Dustin takes Sammy to basketball camp, I'm able to enjoy a little 1:1 time with Jack. He becomes a lot more verbal when brother isn't there to "talk" for him. 😅 I love all of his babbles!

My little sister was in town this week and helped us out with transporting Sammy to/from preschool. I LOVE HAVING HER IN TOWN! I also love the way she did a Starbucks run before she came to my house. Haha. I'm a *big fan* of the Hazelnut Oatmilk Shaken Espresso!

Another favorite this week was coming home to my Nacho Potato Soup cooking away in the slow cooker. I love walking in after a busy day to the smell of dinner. ALWAYS a favorite!

That's it for today! I am so excited for a quiet weekend at home with my people. See you back here on Monday!

  1. No wonder you are tired, it's nice having short weeks but the full weeks have to come sometime.
What adorable photos of your little one's and how lovely that your sister has been in town to help out.
That soup sounds so good, I love coming home to something cooking in the slow cooker.

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!

Disney World: Day 6 Recap

We're a little bit behind in posting, but today I'm sharing our day 6 recap to our Disney World trip! Today we went to...Animal Kingdom!  I love an Animal Kingdom park day following a rest day. Animal Kingdom has lots of opportunities for animal viewing, and the animals are most active during the morning. It's a great idea to start your day at Animal Kingdom early to maximize your animal viewing opportunities.  On this day we were up and on our way around 8:00. We had a lightning pass for the Nav'i River Journey beginning at 8:05. This ride is located in the Pandora section of the park and it is truly amazing. There are lots of floating mountains, water features, and fun details throughout. Although the boys had zero frame of reference about the movie, we enjoyed the ride and some breakfast before heading to... Festival of the Lion King! Truly - this show is worth the cost of your park admission alone. We loved the songs and the dances, and Sammy was thrilled with the f...

Disney World: Day 7 Recap

We woke up on January 1st ready for our last full day at Disney World!  The boys were a little slow moving this morning (who came blame them after 4 park days 😅) but we had a Lightning Lane booked at 8:05AM for Tiana's Bayou Adventure (formerly known as Splash Mountain). I sent Sammy and Dustin ahead to Magic Kingdom so Jack could have a slower start, and we met up with them in Fantasyland right around 9:30. We knew today was going to be a long park day. We were worried to leave for a rest in case the park reached capacity, and we wanted to make sure we stayed for fireworks!  We packed our morning with lots of rides and tried the new beignets. Sammy loved them! I also caught my favorite picture of the trip this morning. I was trying to take a cute picture of the boys, and Sammy's arm was around Jack's shoulders. At this exact moment... Jack took hold Sammy's finger and bit it. He didn't bite very hard, but hard enough to get this reaction from Sammy. 😂 It is somet...
