Friday Favorites 11-3-2023

It's Friday and it's November, which means I can officially light my "pine" scented candles this weekend...right?! As usual, I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share my favorites from the week.

Let's back it up to last weekend....

It was a cold, blustery weekend and I was feeling ambitious in the kitchen. I decided to make some homemade noodles.

Oh my goodness...homemade noodles are so delicious, and not as difficult as one would think. I made them on Saturday, and on Sunday we enjoyed them with my Skillet Beef Stroganoff. I tripled (tripled!) the batch so I could have some in the freezer. Yummy bowls of comfort food is one of my very favorite things.

Even though I'm seeing twinkle lights and garland in my future, we can't forget about how much fun we had celebrating Halloween! Sammy was a Denver Broncos football player and Jack went as a skunk.

A moment for the side profile of the costume...😂 He was a HIT!

We had to stop by their grandparents homes the day before Trick-or-Treating, so I snapped this quick photo. So cute!

The morning after Trick-or-Treating left us all feeling a little exhausted. Can we petition to only allow Trick-or-Treating on Fridays or Saturdays? I came out from the bathroom and found Sammy and Jack snuggled up in our bed. We put our heated blanket on over the weekend and Sammy has mentioned more than once how he thinks he needs on in his room. 😉

Baby Jack also turned five months old this week! I know I'm biased, but look at that sweet smile! When he sees me get closer he smiles and kicks his legs. There is really nothing better.

I love getting pictures of the boys throughout the day! It's so fun to see what they're up to.

Have you tried this new flavor of sparkling water from Trader Joe's? It's cranberry clementine flavored, so I'm guessing it's seasonal. I bought one case and I'm wishing I had bought five. SO GOOD!

We had one of my favorite crockpot meals this week - a Chicken and Corn chowder. Easy crockpot recipes are forever a favorite of mine. There's nothing better than walking in the door after a busy day to dinner already prepared!

That's it for today, I hope you have the best weekend! XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
