Friday Favorites [8-30-2024]

It's the end of our first full week of school with students, and I don't know that I've ever been so happy to see a Friday. 😉 I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share a few favorites from this busy week.

I made these savory sausage muffins this weekend and they were a favorite for quick breakfast option! Dustin really liked them, too.

Sammy is settling into the groove of kindergarten! He wakes up excited to go each day, and we're so thankful for supportive family members who can help get him to and from school safely. On this day my aunt picked him up and had her dog with her. He was so excited!

Last weekend the boys (and I) had a jammie morning. We were so happy to be home relaxing together! I'm looking forward to a repeat this weekend.

In so many ways I think I prepared Sammy well for kindergarten and knew how to make the transition smooth for him. However - I neglected to think of myself through this transition. Haha. I miss having "access" to my boy during the day! If I had a question, I could quick text his childcare provider and hear back instantly about how he was doing. If there are any veteran moms reading, I'll take any and all tips about how to get through this. My sweet parents sent me some flowers to boost my spirits after a hard drop off (for me - not him 😅). I know things will get easier, but boy - I am missing my Sammy!

Today's post is short and sweet. I didn't have much to share! It's my goal to be back posting consistently next week. I miss it! I'm going to take the long weekend, and I'll be back here on Tuesday. XX

  1. I love the sound of those muffins, what a great breakfast.
That is great that Sammy has settled into kindergarten well. Sending love and hugs. It is hard seeing our little one's start school but it does get easier.

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
