What's Up Wednesday [May 2024]

It's the last Wednesday and May, and at 1:45 on Friday I'll be a teacher that's done with school for the summer. Those two things make me a very happy girl. I'm linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share a little bit about what's up in my life right now!

What we're eating this week...

Here's what is on our menu this week:

Monday - we grilled brats and had pasta salad on the side

Tuesday - tball night! We had leftovers

Wednesday - my aunt is moving to Iowa, and closes on her house tonight. I'm anticipating we'll all grab something out together.

Thursday - Crockpot BBQ Chicken will be cooking away!

Friday - I think pizza will be just the perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year 😉

What I'm reminiscing about...

Baby Jack turns one on Saturday! Over the weekend I looked all of the sweet pictures on my phone from last summer.

This picture of the boys meeting each other for the first time is one of my very favorites. Look at that joy on Sammy's face!

Last summer was just the sweetest few months of living in a newborn bubble. I wish I could back and live it all over again.

What I'm loving...

I am leaning into the "dirty water" and "dirty soda" trend that is flooding my social media pages. I ordered some of these flavored syrups and love experimenting with drinks! I like to mix a little sugar free coconut syrup with a Diet Dr. Pepper and a squeeze of lime. In college, my favorite drink was a Malibu and Diet, and this brings me right back. Haha.

What we've been up to...

Tball started and Sammy had his first game last night! Look HOW CUTE. I'm looking forward to lots of fun at the ball field this summer!

May also brought the end of preschool for our Sammy John. He had a precious preschool graduation, and is looking way too grown up these days.

We've been busy chasing around baby Jack. I looked away for one minute and he managed to climb on top of his activity table. Haha.

What I'm dreading...

At this point, nothing! With summer break approaching it's nothing but clear skies for me.

What I'm excited about...

I'm excited for fun at the pool, late bedtimes, and time outdoors!

What I'm watching...

At this moment, I've got Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playing while Sammy is sitting next to me.

Did anyone watch Bridgerton?! I am totally into this show, so much so that I read the entire Bridgerton series awhile back. I was excited for this season, and I hate that they're making us wait a few more weeks for the rest!

What I'm reading...

I just downloaded "Beach Read" by Emily Henry to my Kindle. The cover alone screams. "read me in the summer!" I'm excited to dig into this one.

What I'm wearing...

It will be the summer of the tennis skirt! I love how versatile this clothing item is. I ordered this one off of Amazon a few years ago, but I couldn't wear it last summer with my new postpartum body. I was excited to pull it out of storage to wear again! Even though it's Amazon, it's nice quality. Perfect for wearing outside and being active.

What I'm doing this weekend...

Celebrating Jack! He turns 1 on Saturday, and we'll celebrate him next weekend with a strawberry themed birthday party. I can't wait!

What I'm looking forward to next month...

Yes, please. 😉

Thanks for reading this month! I'll be back here tomorrow. XX

Friday Favorites [5-3-2024]

Yay! It's Friday and it's the month of MAY! Both of those things are very good things in my book. Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from the week.  On Monday I shared that we had a busy weekend! My mom and I hosted a Bridal Shower for my sweet cousin Caitlin, and then our new niece and nephew were baptized on Sunday. It was a fun (but tiring) way to spend the weekend!  Jack especially loved all of the family time, and was happy to sneak in some giggles with Great Grandma before the shower began. 😉 We whipped up these  Burrito Bowls  for dinner one night this week, and it was a new favorite. It was such an easy meal that Dustin and I both loved!  It's May, which means that it's time for me to read "Charlotte's Web" to my class. I read it every year during the month of May! This book has seen much better years - I think it's time for a new copy. Haha.  The boys and I love to play in the basement...

Friday Favorites [9-6-2024]

I'm always happy to see Friday, but especially when the weather calls for... this gloriousness this weekend, I.Can't.Wait.!  I'm linking up with Andrea  and Erika  to share some favorites from our busy, short week!  These brothers get so excited to see each other everyday after school, it melts me! They were together at childcare last year, so it makes me think that they have to be missing each other this year.  Brother time is always a favorite of mine. 😊 The chicken street taco kit from Costco is a favorite as well! This time of year it's important to get dinner on the table quickly and I love that this kit involves minimal clean-up.  This little boy is determined to start walking. He's getting braver and braver by the day!  There's a new flag football player in town. 😉 Sammy started flag football this week and I can't wait to watch him in action this fall! This is his "tough face." Haha.  Sammy's lunches have been a favorite for sure....

Friday Favorites [8-9-2024]

It's Friday! I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from my week.  I don't even know HOW it happened, but this is my last official week of summer. Can you hear me crying from wherever you are? 😅 June passed slowly, but July and August flew. I know that I will blink and the upcoming week will be over.  We've just been over here trying to soak in all  that's left of summer. 😉 On August 6th, Dustin and I celebrated 8 years of marriage! We celebrated with our first date night in an entire calendar year.  With Jack's allergies and Dustin's crazy work schedule, we find it so hard to get out just the two of us. It's a goal of ours to make it a priority this year!  Sammy's Kindergarten backpack, lunchbox and thermos came and he couldn't have been more excited. We loaded up all of his supplies and he is ready. Me on the other hand? I need someone to come over here and hold me. Haha.  Smiley boys at the park are ...
