Happy Friday! Whew - it's been awhile. I'm so glad to be linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from my week.

First up...

I took a little unintentional break from blogging during the month of December. My family was hit hard with one illness after another! I made sure to recap the month of December as best as I could. Read about it here.

One of my favorite things has been enjoying this Tatcha beauty set. I really love the fun sets Sephora comes out with around the holidays, and Dustin gifted me this one. It's a great way to try new products without committing to a full size! My favorites have been the Rice Wash facial cleanser and the Dewy Skin Cream. The products have a really nice scent to them, without being overwhelming.

I finished this book on January 3rd, and I honestly wonder if it will be my book of the year of 2024. IT WAS SO GOOD! It follows the story of a young girl who has "The Knowing," or has premonitions and can read the minds of others. Sounds weird, right? I tell you, I could not put it down. It takes a lot to keep me up late these days, and this book did it. 😉

Another favorite this week is this book. I read one tip a day, and it gives me just a little inspiration about ways to elevate my home. There's been inspiration about making your bed, playing spa music in your home...just lots of good little ideas.

We were back to school and work on Tuesday, and that meant that it was necessary to start cooking real dinners this week. One night we had Sloppy Joe Bowls, which are always a favorite dish of mine. After lots of holiday indulging, it felt good to eat "real" food.

It's a short and sweet post today! I'm off to spend the weekend with my boys. Happy Friday! XX

  1. Oh no! I hope everyone is feeling better now after all of the illness.
I love the gift sets at Christmas, I got a couple to try out a few things without having to pay a silly price.
My youngest is back at college on Monday so that's when our routine and cooking real dinners start. Eek!
    Have a great weekend.

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
