35 Weeks + Getting Closer

It's May 18th which means that within a month our family will look entirely different with our newest addition! I can't hardly wait for the newborn snuggles and the excitement of welcoming our sweet baby home.

I officially hit 35 weeks in my pregnancy this week. We celebrated Mother's Day over the weekend and took our parents to "This Little Piggy" in Altoona to get some updated photos of our sweet boy. I'm currently measuring about 3 weeks ahead with a strong likelihood of high fluid, just like my pregnancy with Sammy. The tech guessed that he was weighing about 5lb 11 oz. He already has big cheeks and lots of hair and eyelashes! I can't wait to hold him in my arms.

Look at those big cheeks!

At my 36 week appointment we will have a growth ultrasound done just to make sure that everything checks out OK, and to see if the date of my c-section needs to be changed. With being high fluid I run the risk of my waters rupturing early and increased contractions. I've been having plenty of contractions during the day - but nothing time-able or with a pattern. I guess we'll see whenever he wants to make his debut. :)

At night when I put Sammy to bed I always sing him a song and it makes the baby dance like crazy in my belly. Sammy has named the baby "Diddums." Last night he told me that we needed to sing the song to Diddums, and then he told me all of the things he is excited to do with Diddums over the summer. He has big plans for his little brother. :) He says that they are going to go swimming, go to a baseball game and eat hot dogs. Then he said, "Wait, mommy! We have to get Diddums a fishing pole and a fishing backpack so we can go fishing this summer!" We've talked about how when the baby comes he'll spend a lot of time sleeping and eating, but Sammy is determined to make the most of the summer with his new brother. I can't wait to see their little bond grow! I pray everyday that they will be there for each other for happy and sad times, and that they will grow into good friends.

We will see you soon, sweet boy.

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
