Life Lately [July 2025]

I can't believe that we're already halfway through July! This summer has absolutely been flying. School supplies are out in stores and I received my Pottery Barn Kids "back-to-school" catalog: all signs that summer will come to a close soon.

I wanted to share just a little life lately about our summer so far.

It seemed like the start of the summer was filled with appointments, starting projects, and preparations for our trip to Disney World. The end of the school year left us feeling ready for a break. We soaked up all the slow mornings and we got caught up on sleep.

Our trip to Florida was so great! We soaked up all the family time together. Sammy's favorite part of our trip was getting his yeti stuffed animal from Animal Kingdom, and Jack loved eating all the yummy food and riding Small World.

It felt so great to go on vacation knowing we didn't have to immediately return to school and work when we got back from our trip. It made things more relaxing!

Sammy played baseball this summer and Dustin coached his team. The level Sammy played was called "Rookie" and it was a lot more fun to watch compared to t-ball...a little more competitive. 😉

Sammy and Jack have played outside so much this summer. They are constantly getting wet from the hose and I think we go through approximately 3 outfits for each kid a day. The washing machine is constantly going these days.

I've been staying exactly as busy as I'd like to be with Smart Moms Travel. 😊 This summer I've booked 5 trips to Walt Disney World for clients, and am learning all the "behind-the-scenes" details of being a travel agent. It's been great timing to have extra time this summer to really learn about the business.

I've got about 5 weeks of summer left, and Sammy has about 6 weeks left. Sammy will absolutely be ready to return to school. He misses his teacher and the social aspect of school! We still have swim lessons, some home projects to finish and slow mornings to enjoy ahead of going back to school and work in August. We plan to soak it all up!

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
