Life Lately.

It's Monday again! Does anyone else feel as if the Fourth of July lasted forever with the day the holiday landed? We didn't necessarily do anything extra special over the weekend, but I heard lots of fireworks going off through the night, so someone somewhere was celebrating. 😉

I've been blogging here [almost] consistently for a year, and this blog has become somewhat of a digital scrapbook for me. I really treasure reading through old posts, and remembering events of the past. I wanted to share a bit of life lately, and what we've been up to this summer so far.

Jack has a lot to say these days. Haha. He is talking like crazy and can say around 10-12 words. His newest tricks are saying "ROAR" if you ask him what a Tiger says, and saying the word "ball."

He is cruising and crawling all over the place, so I'm sure we'll have a walker before too long. I'm not quite sure if I'm ready for that excitement, but I do love seeing him meet new developmental milestones.

Sammy has been loving summer. This has been the summer of neighborhood friends, especially since a new neighbor moved next door who has a whole crew of little boys. Sammy knows that when his friends have their garage doors open that chances are good he can play with them for a bit.

This week, Sammy will be doing Bible School at our church, and I'm excited for him! It's all day - 9:00-2:30 - so it will be good practice for Kindergarten. I know that he'll be excited to get out and be social with his friends. He's been loving the programs our library offers. In this photo he was helping a juggler with spinning a plate - so exciting!

Our days seem to be filled with lots of meal prep and lots of snacks. We joke that Sammy eats two meals for every one meal. We call it "first breakfast" and "second breakfast" ...all day long. I've declared this the summer of paper plates to help eliminate some dishes for me. Haha.

We've got just about 6 weeks of summer left before I head back to work. We're hoping to spend lots more time at the pool and check a few more items off our "Summer Bucket List." I love the fall season, but I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to summer just yet. 😉

Thanks for reading a little bit of life lately! I'll be back tomorrow. XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
