Friday Favorites [7-12-2024]

As summer continues on, I am finding these weeks are passing even more quickly! I can't believe that we're just about halfway through July. I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share some favorites from the week. Here we go!

First up...Vacation Bible School for Sammy! It was his first year attending, and it was from 9:00-2:30 each day. That's a long day for a little boy! Each day he'd come home hungry and exhausted, and I'm pretty sure it was a glimpse of what starting Kindergarten will be like. 😉 Overall it was a great experience for him! I'm glad he has the weekend to recover and have some down time.

While Sammy was gone at VBS, Jack had...all the appointments. Womp womp. He had his first dental visit, a pediatrician appointment, and an appointment with his food allergy dietitian. He was a little trooper through it all!

Matching outfits will always be a favorite of mine. I loved my boys looking handsome in their matching Mickey Mouse polos! I've been adding new Mickey shirts to the boys' wardrobe in preparation for a little surprise trip we have planned for them in December. Shhh. 😉

BLTs and Iowa sweet corn is one of my very favorite meals of the summer! Especially when I make the sandwich using homemade sourdough.

The boys love the sweet corn, too.

One last favorite from the week is this picture of the boys from our church's pool party last night! They love any chance they get to swim.

That's it for today! I'll see you back here on Monday. Have a great weekend! XX

Aww! It sounds like Bible School has been a great experience for Sammy. What a busy time for Jack. What a star he is! The matching outfits are so cute.

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
