Friday Favorites [6-6-2024]

 

A funny story...I almost forgot to write my Friday Favorite post because I have already lost track of what day is happening when. 😉 It ROCKS to be a teacher in the summer! 

I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from my week. 

Turning these alarms off for the summer is at the top of my list. Right now I'm letting the boys be my alarm clocks in the morning and it's been so nice to start catching up on sleep! 

This past Saturday we celebrated Jack's FIRST birthday! We had a day at home doing all of his favorite things, and will celebrate him with a big birthday bash on Saturday. 

Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps were a favorite dinner this week, and couldn't have been simpler to whip up!

The return of summer also means the return of my children wanting to eat nonstop. I've been brainstorming lunch recipes that are easy to make and easy to enjoy. I shared a lunch recipe that Sammy helped me make. They were a hit!


One last cheesy smile before I sign off for the weekend. I'll be back on Monday, sharing details from Jack's birthday party!

    Oh wow! I would be glad to turn those alarms off too for the summer! Half 4 is almost the middle of the night. hehehe

Friday Favorites [7-3-2026]

  It's Friday, and it's the 4th of July Eve! Sounds pretty good to me. 😉 I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from the week.  I'm dipping my toe back into blog world because, well, I am missing documenting my kids' childhoods. It brings me such joy to go back and read through memories from years before documented in old posts, so I'm determined to hang out here a bit more consistently to share life.  This summer, I've got a seven (7?!) year old and a new 3 year old. Someone the other day was talking about what a difference a year makes from summer to summer and it is so true. For example, this year Jack and Sammy love to go play together. Sammy is SEVEN!

  Sammy is SEVEN! Seven years ago we were at the hospital, excited and nervous to meet our Samuel John.  Sammy was always a happy baby and toddler, and that's continued into childhood. He is so affable, friendly, and confident! He loves his family, he loves to play and he loves to be active. Games are his favorite, and he loves to "snuggle."  Since returning back to school, he's developed a huge love of reading! As a first grade teacher this WARMS my heart. He loves most books, but right now he favors graphic novels. He is the best big brother. Without us asking, he is so willing to help his brother. Just yesterday, Jack sneezed and Sammy ran to get him a wipe and then proceeded to wipe Jack's nose for him. If someone gets hurt he often hurries to see what's wrong and if he can help. He's a lot like Dustin in that he loves to have fun and be social. He's a lot like me in that he loves to make lists and know the when/how things are happening. He loves a...

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy.
