Friday Favorites 1-19-2024

Hello Friday, it's nice to see you. ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm getting ready to head into the weekend and sharing some Friday Favorites alongside Andrea and Erika. Here we go!

My week started off with 2 "cold" days here in Iowa (following a week with 3 snow days), so naturally my days are completely mixed up. By the time I got to school on Wednesday, I thought it was Thursday. My students thought it was Monday, and everyone was totally confused. Check out that "feels like" temperature. BRR!

Even though I was stuck inside with my boys for about 5 consecutive days with the weather, we had SO MUCH FUN. We got into a good little routine and it almost felt like another winter break. Some highlights are...

All the couch cushion forts, please.

Several lunches were consumed in the couch cushion forts. It's such an easy "yes" that gets such a big smile in return.

Jack learned how to army crawl and is getting quite good at getting himself around to where he wants to be.

We made homemade playdough one of the days, and it was a huge hit.

We practiced writing our names. Sammy has come a long ways already this school year!

I LIVE for days that I don't have to pack a lunch. This little plate of yumminess was on repeat over the week. These are the mini tacos and Chicken Cilantro wontons - both from Trader Joe's!

We had so much time to play in our basement together. Our basement is where we store a majority of toys, and where we keep the jumper. Jack LOVES it!

Roo had the right idea in keeping warm during our snowy, cold days at home. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I absolutely love this outfit of Jack's. I purchased it from Baby Gap and it is so cozy!

One last favorite for the week is Jack trying broccoli for the first time. Look at that expression! Despite his first impression, he ended up really enjoying it.

Have the best weekend...see you back here on Monday! XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one ๐Ÿ˜‰] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. ๐Ÿ˜Š I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. ๐Ÿ˜‰ He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
