Friday Favorites 10-27-2023

Happy Friday! It's the LAST Friday in October which absolutely baffles me. I can't believe next week will be November! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some Friday Favorites. 


I have to share my new favorite family photo. Everyone is looking at the camera - including baby Jack! This was taken at a family wedding last weekend. We had a great time!


I'm certain Jack will hate this picture when he gets older. Haha! Obviously we had to put him in a pumpkin for his first pumpkin carving. 😉


Sammy got a full Broncos football uniform for one of his birthday presents and he absolutely loves it. In fact, he loves it so much that it may be his Halloween costume.


Look at these sweet brother smiles! Always a favorite of mine.


Another favorite is a matching PJ moment. Every night Sammy will run into Jack's nursery following his bath to see if they can wear coordinating pajamas. I know this time that they can match is fleeting, so I am fully embracing it. 


Pumpkin sausage pasta for dinner is a favorite at our house! It's one of those great meals that you can make in (mostly) one pan on the stovetop. So good! 


Last one for this week...look at those leaves! I was nursing Jack and admiring the view. The leaves in Iowa seem to be at peak this week, and are all starting to fall. I can picture some leaf jumping in our future. 😉

Have a great weekend! I'm off today for Sammy's five year old well-child visit, and I'm thrilled to have the day to spend with my boys. See you back here on Monday! XX

  Sammy is SEVEN! Seven years ago we were at the hospital, excited and nervous to meet our Samuel John.  Sammy was always a happy baby and toddler, and that's continued into childhood. He is so affable, friendly, and confident! He loves his family, he loves to play and he loves to be active. Games are his favorite, and he loves to "snuggle."  Since returning back to school, he's developed a huge love of reading! As a first grade teacher this WARMS my heart. He loves most books, but right now he favors graphic novels. He is the best big brother. Without us asking, he is so willing to help his brother. What's Up Wednesday [September 2024]

And just like that...it's the last week of the month! Time for What's Up Wednesday with  Sheaffer  and  Shay .  What We're Eating this Week... Fall weather is officially upon us, so I'm craving warm, comforting meals. This week's menu is... Sunday - Meatloaf and green beans Monday - Chicken Pot Pie with a green salad Tuesday - "Smash Burger" tacos  Wednesday - BBQ Chicken bowls Thursday - Spaghetti  Friday - we're grilling up the Trader Joe's Unexpected Cheddar Chicken sausages...so good!  My boys have been eating a lot of pumpkin muffins this week. I had to make a second batch this evening because Sammy ate 5 (5!) in one day.  We're basically eating pumpkin in whatever we can these days, which is why I made these pumpkin sourdough discard bagels. A warm bagel + pumpkin cream cheese from Trader Joe's = a little slice of heaven. 😊 What I'm reminiscing about... As always...this time last year. Look how small and squishy Baby Jack was!  T...

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...
