Friday Favorites 10-20-2023

Happy Friday! Today I'm off school as our teacher compensation day following conferences, and we have professional development on Monday. I am PUMPED about a three day weekend and a "short" school week next week. I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from the week.

Easily my favorite - it was Sammy's birthday on Thursday! We've been counting down the days to his birthday basically since his last birthday. He woke up on Thursday ready to celebrate!

My mom dropped off a birthday donut in the morning complete with a "5" candle.

He was so excited for his present - a Spiderman bike! He's in a bit of a Spiderman phase right now.

He brought birthday treats to preschool and Dustin picked him up. Then they met my great grandma for lunch at a restaurant in town.

Since I was late at work for parent-teacher conferences (boo 😓) the boys brought over dinner and we had cake in my classroom. It was a sweet ending to a fun day! This weekend we will have his family party on Sunday.

Pictures from childcare are my favorite. Look at Baby Jack smiling away!

I went in to give Sammy a kiss goodnight and laughed so hard. He has orange Halloween lights in his room right now and is snuggled under so many blankets. Clifford is tucked under his arm and his Christmas Amazon magazines are within reach. He is prepared for ANYTHING. Haha!

Our last soccer game is tomorrow! It's been such a sweet season watching Sammy play and Dustin coach. I'm going to miss it!

Last Sunday we had chili and cinnamon rolls for dinner. I have to know...is this just an Iowa thing? If you haven't enjoyed a bowl of chili along a cinnamon roll you haven't lived. Trust me. 😉

That's all for this week! It's time to play catch-up from a busy week and get life organized around here. Enjoy your weekend! XX

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
