Friday Favorites 9-29-2023

It's Friday! Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some Friday Favorites from the week.

It's Homecoming week in my town, so we've had a super fun week at my school! Our town does a Homecoming parade each year on Thursday before the game. I walked in the parade with my school staff while wearing Jack in the baby wrap, while Dustin and Sammy watched. Sammy wore Dustin's high school jersey for the festivities.

I wish I could tell that high school girl that 15 years later their son would be wearing that jersey for Homecoming. 😉

This pictures melts my heart. He has such admiration for the "Newton Cardinal Football players."

It's soccer season! The "Hurricanes" [AKA Sammy's team] play a game each Saturday. I love watching him play! Dustin is coaching them and equates it to "herding cats." haha!

Sammy requested spaghetti this week for dinner and was thrilled when it was finally spaghetti night. He promptly ate a plate of it, then requested another. #growingboy

Easy crockpot meals are absolutely a favorite! Have you seen my recipe for Crockpot Italian Beef? It's a super easy recipe that makes a really delicious sandwich.

This was Dustin's last week of vacation. It's been so nice having him home the last 3 weeks! I love all the fun pictures of Jack I get from him throughout the day.

Bath time is always a favorite of mine. Look at that clean and fresh baby!

Last weekend Dustin painted our front door to match our new siding, and we added a few touches for fall. I'm super pleased with how it turned out.

It's a short and sweet post today. I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend! Dustin is taking Sammy to an air show, and I plan to have a quiet night at home with Jackson. Check back in on Sunday for  Jack's four month update! Have a wonderful weekend. XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
