Friday Favorites 9-22-2023

I've been back to work for a full week and can remember why Friday evenings are typically "pizza and movie nights" for our family. Haha! I'm READY for the weekend! I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some of my favorites from the week. Here we go!

My tired eyes are so thankful for this magic brightening stick. I think I put on makeup less than 10 times from the months of June-August, so it's been a change getting myself out the door in the mornings. Haha! I put a swipe of this brightening stick underneath my under eye concealer and it seems to wake my eyes up. It doesn't tingle, it's not creamy, it's very similar to a concealer stick in consistency, but plus some skincare. Love!

The beginning of the week felt hectic figuring out our morning routine. I am a routine girlie, and thrive on it. I told myself that by Friday we would have a solid routine figured out, and that's totally true. I was able to fit in consistent workouts this week in the morning which is not an easy feat with a small baby at home. My favorite workout was this 20 minute arms class from Peloton - set to music from "The Little Mermaid." I can't be the only adult who continues to listen to Disney music, right?!

I made the yummiest salad to eat for lunch through the week! Find the recipe and my routine for prepping my salads for the week here

I cannot quit with this popcorn. It's so good! It has a cheese flavor without getting all the "cheese" all over your fingers. I've been grabbing a bowlful in the afternoon when I get home from work. The yummiest snack!

This week I was featured on Des Moines Mom Blog as a guest blogger! This was super fun for me to write. I wrote a post sharing a mother's perspective behind family photos. I'd love you to check it out! Read it here

I felt so much love as I returned back to work. Look at these flowers from my boys! Such sweetness.

Awww, look at this! Dustin has been home with the boys and they've all had a busy week. Look at this cute picture he snapped of Jack and Roo! I love getting photo updates throughout the day.

That's all for this week! This weekend we've got a soccer game for Sammy (weather permitting - it's supposed to rain), church, and some relaxation and preparation for the week ahead. I'm also thinking I may add some Halloween touches to our fall decor. Have a great weekend! XX

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
