Back to School & 10 Questions

Today is Sammy's first day of four year old preschool! He'll attend preschool three mornings a week, with the same teachers he had last year for the three year old program. We're so excited for him!

I thought it would be fun to ask Sammy some questions and record his answers as he heads into the year:

1. What's your name? Sammy John Brisel

2. Who is in your family? Mommy, Daddy, and Jack and me!

3. What is your favorite color? Blue

4. What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be an astronaut.

5. What's your favorite thing to eat? Popsicles!

6. What do you like to do with your family? I like to play with them.

7. What is your favorite animal? Pigs

8. What is your favorite restaurant? Chick-Fil-A

9. What is your favorite book? Ummm...Little Critter books

10. What are you excited about for preschool? I can't wait to color there!

Sammy is SEVEN!

Sammy is SEVEN! Seven years ago we were at the hospital, excited and nervous to meet our Samuel John. Sammy was always a happy baby and toddler, and that's continued into childhood. He is so affable, friendly, and confident! He loves his family, he loves to play and he loves to be active. Games are his favorite, and he loves to "snuggle." Since returning back to school, he's developed a huge love of reading! As a first grade teacher this WARMS my heart. He loves most books, but right now he favors graphic novels. He is the best big brother. Without us asking, he is so willing to help his brother. Just yesterday, Jack sneezed and Sammy ran to get him a wipe and then proceeded to wipe Jack's nose for him. If someone gets hurt he often hurries to see what's wrong and if he can help. He's a lot like Dustin in that he loves to have fun and be social. Friday Favorites [7-3-2026]

It's Friday, and it's the 4th of July Eve! Sounds pretty good to me. 😉 I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from the week. I'm dipping my toe back into blog world because, well, I am missing documenting my kids' childhoods. It brings me such joy to go back and read through memories from years before documented in old posts, so I'm determined to hang out here a bit more consistently to share life. This summer, I've got a seven (7?!) year old and a new 3 year old. Someone the other day was talking about what a difference a year makes from summer to summer and it is so true. For example, this year Jack and Sammy love to go play together. Last year, both boys required constant supervision. Last year Jack hated going to the pool, and this year he is a little fish! Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday! I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha. Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.
