Summer Beauty Products

During the summer months I don't like to spend much time getting myself ready for the day, and prefer for products to be light and easy to apply. As far as skincare goes, I consistently use the Arbonne Age Well collection. These products are my "ride or die" products and I've used them faithfully for the last 5 years. When it comes to makeup and body care, I really like to switch things up for the seasons and try new products. These are some of my favorites lately!

#1: SuperGoop! Mineral Sheerscreen Sunscreen

Year round I wear a sunscreen on my face that's in my Arbonne Age Well Day Cream, but during the summer I like to add another layer of protection. My dermatologist recommended a mineral sunscreen and I really like this one! It goes on very smoothly, has a SPF of 30 and doesn't leave a white residue. I add a drop the size of a blueberry to my palm, and mix it with...

#2: Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti Pollution Bronzing Drops with Peptides

I was super intrigued in this product when I saw it at Sephora. I add just one drop to my palm (alongside my sunscreen) and swirl it around. The result is a bronze-y sunscreen with just a little bit of coverage. It's PERFECT for the summer months! If I don't have anything special going on, the two above products are my "make-up for the day."

#3: fresh Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm

I am constantly putting some sort of lip balm on my lips and found this one with some yummy summer flavors. Typically at night I'll slather on the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, but swapped it out for this product for summer. I find this lip balm to be a lot more sheer and not sticky at all. If you have very chapped lips you may need something a bit more thick. I have both the watermelon and coconut flavored balms, and have also found that this product is also nice when rubbed into your cuticles. :)

#4 Kopari Tropical Coconut Melt

To be completely honest, I was very doubtful that I'd enjoy this product. I saw it in a store and tried it and it felt super sticky on my hands.  Remember, this is a 100% organic coconut oil product. Once I saw the Tropical scented version online I wanted to give it another try. I'm the biggest fan now! I think there are a few keys to loving this product: 1. Apply after taking a bath or shower, and don't apply to completely dry skin. If your skin is just slightly damp this product will absorb into your skin even better. 2. Scoop some of the product into your hand and rub it between your hands to warm it up. The coconut oil gets changed into the liquid form and will hydrate your skin so much! I only like to use this product in the evening, when I can take a bit more time to massage it into my skin. The tropical scent is an added bonus; I smell like a pina colada!

I'd love to hear about any summer beauty products you utilize!

Friday Favorites [5-3-2024]

Yay! It's Friday and it's the month of MAY! Both of those things are very good things in my book. Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from the week.  On Monday I shared that we had a busy weekend! My mom and I hosted a Bridal Shower for my sweet cousin Caitlin, and then our new niece and nephew were baptized on Sunday. It was a fun (but tiring) way to spend the weekend!  Jack especially loved all of the family time, and was happy to sneak in some giggles with Great Grandma before the shower began. 😉 We whipped up these  Burrito Bowls  for dinner one night this week, and it was a new favorite. It was such an easy meal that Dustin and I both loved!  It's May, which means that it's time for me to read "Charlotte's Web" to my class. I read it every year during the month of May! This book has seen much better years - I think it's time for a new copy. Haha.  The boys and I love to play in the basement...

Friday Favorites [9-6-2024]

I'm always happy to see Friday, but especially when the weather calls for... this gloriousness this weekend, I.Can't.Wait.!  I'm linking up with Andrea  and Erika  to share some favorites from our busy, short week!  These brothers get so excited to see each other everyday after school, it melts me! They were together at childcare last year, so it makes me think that they have to be missing each other this year.  Brother time is always a favorite of mine. 😊 The chicken street taco kit from Costco is a favorite as well! This time of year it's important to get dinner on the table quickly and I love that this kit involves minimal clean-up.  This little boy is determined to start walking. He's getting braver and braver by the day!  There's a new flag football player in town. 😉 Sammy started flag football this week and I can't wait to watch him in action this fall! This is his "tough face." Haha.  Sammy's lunches have been a favorite for sure....

Friday Favorites [8-9-2024]

It's Friday! I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from my week.  I don't even know HOW it happened, but this is my last official week of summer. Can you hear me crying from wherever you are? 😅 June passed slowly, but July and August flew. I know that I will blink and the upcoming week will be over.  We've just been over here trying to soak in all  that's left of summer. 😉 On August 6th, Dustin and I celebrated 8 years of marriage! We celebrated with our first date night in an entire calendar year.  With Jack's allergies and Dustin's crazy work schedule, we find it so hard to get out just the two of us. It's a goal of ours to make it a priority this year!  Sammy's Kindergarten backpack, lunchbox and thermos came and he couldn't have been more excited. We loaded up all of his supplies and he is ready. Me on the other hand? I need someone to come over here and hold me. Haha.  Smiley boys at the park are ...
