Disney World Part 3

Thanks for following along on all the details of our Disney trip! Our third day at Disney was our rest day, and believe me - we needed it! The night before we stayed at Magic Kingdom super late, so we were excited to an opportunity to sleep in and enjoy the sun at the pool. Our rest day also happened to be New Year's Eve! We did this on purpose to avoid the inevitably large crowds at the parks.

Our little fish was so excited to enjoy the pool! All Disney World resorts have life jackets available for little ones, and this one fit him perfectly. It was great to not have to pack one in the suitcase!

We spent the morning exploring the Art of Animation resort, which is located right next to Pop Century. This resort was so fun! They had large statues of characters around the resort, areas for kids to climb on, and generally a lot more theming than the Pop Century resort. I think that the room sizes are very comparable (if not the same) as the Pop Century resort.

Sammy and Mater!

Sammy and Lightening McQueen! It was so fun to see all of these characters, and totally made me want to stay at Art of Animation for our next trip.

After swimming and a little pizza by the pool, Sammy took a long nap while I got to enjoy some solo time reading at the pool. This was a heavenly couple of hours!

We took a bus to Magic Kingdom, then took the monorail to The Contemporary Resort for our dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's. This was our first character meal, and we couldn't wait!

While I don't have much to say about the food at Chef Mickey's, it was worth it to see Sammy's reaction to the characters! It was still fairly early in the evening at this point, so we hopped aboard the monorail to visit the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. Each year, the kitchen staff constructs a life-size gingerbread house. When you walk into the lobby of the Grand Floridian, it smells just like freshly baked gingerbread. Delicious! This was such a fun thing to see.

Can you even believe how beautiful the lobby is? It's absolutely on my bucket list to stay at this gorgeous resort.

Although it was New Year's Eve, we decided to end the night early and get back to Pop Century. We wanted to get to Animal Kingdom bright and early the next day. Happy New Year!

Friday Favorites [5-3-2024]

Yay! It's Friday and it's the month of MAY! Both of those things are very good things in my book. Today I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from the week.  On Monday I shared that we had a busy weekend! My mom and I hosted a Bridal Shower for my sweet cousin Caitlin, and then our new niece and nephew were baptized on Sunday. It was a fun (but tiring) way to spend the weekend!  Jack especially loved all of the family time, and was happy to sneak in some giggles with Great Grandma before the shower began. 😉 We whipped up these  Burrito Bowls  for dinner one night this week, and it was a new favorite. It was such an easy meal that Dustin and I both loved!  It's May, which means that it's time for me to read "Charlotte's Web" to my class. I read it every year during the month of May! This book has seen much better years - I think it's time for a new copy. Haha.  The boys and I love to play in the basement...

Friday Favorites [9-6-2024]

I'm always happy to see Friday, but especially when the weather calls for... this gloriousness this weekend, I.Can't.Wait.!  I'm linking up with Andrea  and Erika  to share some favorites from our busy, short week!  These brothers get so excited to see each other everyday after school, it melts me! They were together at childcare last year, so it makes me think that they have to be missing each other this year.  Brother time is always a favorite of mine. 😊 The chicken street taco kit from Costco is a favorite as well! This time of year it's important to get dinner on the table quickly and I love that this kit involves minimal clean-up.  This little boy is determined to start walking. He's getting braver and braver by the day!  There's a new flag football player in town. 😉 Sammy started flag football this week and I can't wait to watch him in action this fall! This is his "tough face." Haha.  Sammy's lunches have been a favorite for sure....

Friday Favorites [8-9-2024]

It's Friday! I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from my week.  I don't even know HOW it happened, but this is my last official week of summer. Can you hear me crying from wherever you are? 😅 June passed slowly, but July and August flew. I know that I will blink and the upcoming week will be over.  We've just been over here trying to soak in all  that's left of summer. 😉 On August 6th, Dustin and I celebrated 8 years of marriage! We celebrated with our first date night in an entire calendar year.  With Jack's allergies and Dustin's crazy work schedule, we find it so hard to get out just the two of us. It's a goal of ours to make it a priority this year!  Sammy's Kindergarten backpack, lunchbox and thermos came and he couldn't have been more excited. We loaded up all of his supplies and he is ready. Me on the other hand? I need someone to come over here and hold me. Haha.  Smiley boys at the park are ...
