The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World!

This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!

While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients!

For a little recap of today...

We were up bright and early to head to the airport. Thanks, mom, for the ride!

Sammy was so excited, and Jack is a little like..."excuse me, where are you guys taking me now?!"

Jack was a trooper on the flight, and Sammy was wonderful. We flew direct, which was perfect for our family. Once we landed, we connected with our driver.

Disney discontinued the "Magical Express" (or on the way home, the "Tragical" Express) transportation service several years ago. This stinks for guests of Disney World, as it was an included service with your vacation package. Instead, we coordinated a trip with Orlando Magical Rides. They were fabulous and professional, and the Disney music playing during our ride only added to our experience. 😉

Once we arrived at our resort we got a super fun surprise. Disney is known for "Pixie Dusting" their guests every once and awhile. "Pixie Dusting" is basically when your family gets an upgrade, experience, or item at no cost. We've been lucky recipients of this several times - and it is one of those things that just makes the Walt Disney extra special. When we initially booked this trip 12 months ago, we selected the most economical room possible at our resort. In our minds, we weren't likely going to be spending lots of time in the room, and we were trying to save money in areas where we could. The closer we got the trip, the more worried I got about us fitting into a standard room, so upon arrival I asked if there were any Cars Family Suites available. The worker checking us in confirmed that they were, and shared the added cost. We felt like we didn't want to spend that, so we carried on through our check-in. As he handed us our resort map, he said that our family was pixie dusted, and were upgraded at no additional cost. Ummm...yes, please! This was such a spectacular way to start our vacation, and we are so thankful. This room is MUCH bigger, and we'll be a little more comfortable for the duration of our trip.

The entire room is themed like the movie "Cars." It is HEAVEN for two little boys!

The rest of our day has been relaxing so far. Lots of swimming by Sammy and Dustin, we received our Instacart order, and I got our family organized for the week. I wanted to get Jack down for an early bedtime, and Dustin said that he and Sammy were going to go on a "little" adventure. About 20 minutes later, I got a snapchat of Sammy riding the Skyliner (one of our resort's transportation options). I have a feeling Dustin and Sammy will be sneaking in lots of adventures this week. 😉

Tomorrow we are heading to Magic Kingdom. If I'm not too Disney tired, I'll share an update in the evening!

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
