catch up

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. 

Can you hear me cheering from over there? It's our last week of school and this teacher is doing the happy dance! Last week I caught a spring cold, Sammy had preschool graduation, we had a "flood day" (yep, you read that right...a flood day), and a 2 hour late start due to no power on Friday. Needless to say, I was running on fumes by the time Friday came around. 😉

I thought I'd do a little catch-up to share all the things from over the last week. 

Starting with...



Preschool Graduation. 

Sammy had Preschool Graduation on Thursday, and it was precious! He sang two songs and got called across the stage to receive his "diploma" and a bible. We are so proud of him! Preschool was a wonderful experience for him. If you ask him if he's ready for Kindergarten he would tell you, "no, I want to have summer first." 😊 

The boys had their last day of childcare on Friday, so their summer started early! They are home with Dustin this week, ready to relax and enjoy. 

Coming up this week we have Sammy's first tball game of the season, and Jackson's FIRST birthday on June 1st! We are ready to celebrate our sweet boy.

Friday Favorites [7-3-2026]

  It's Friday, and it's the 4th of July Eve! Sounds pretty good to me. 😉 I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from the week.  I'm dipping my toe back into blog world because, well, I am missing documenting my kids' childhoods. Friday Favorites [7-10-2026]

  It's Friday!  I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some favorites from the week. Here we go!  Easy favorite was our Fourth of July! We had a festive day - we went to our parade in the morning and hosted a party in the evening. Look at these cute boys!  Big fan of fireworks and sparklers over here.  Sammy's favorite from the week was the visiting frogs and axolotls to our local library. He has big dreams of owning an axolotl - he's done extensive research 😉 - but we've come to the conclusion that the age of 14 seems reasonable to own an axolotl. Haha. He was very excited to see them up close and in person!  Our slow mornings of a cold brew + the boys playing in the basement are my FAVORITE for sure! I love these days.  Roo's favorite was easily sitting on my lap while I read outside. Friday Favorites [6-14-2024]

  I hate to be the one to point it out...but how in the world is June almost halfway over?! I would like to hit the "slow down" button on summer, please. 😉 Like usual, I'm linking up with  Andrea  and  Erika  to share some favorites from our week. Here we go! You'll notice that many of my "favorites" are food related this week. One of the reasons I love summer is that the cooking is easy, and I can take some time making things I typically wouldn't have time for. Wednesday evening we grilled pork chops and I was hunting for a side dish. I found the ingredients for taco dip and we gobbled it right up. Taco dip is basically a salad, yes?  Jack (and big brother!) have been loving water play this summer. It has been extra warm this week, so it's been a great way to beat the heat.  We had burgers this week using my very favorite  recipe . This meal is probably one of Dustin's most loved meals! Ugh.
