Things I'm excited for...

It's Monday, and I can't believe it's the second week in April already! Only 8 more Monday work days until summer. Today I thought it would be fun to share a little bit about what I'm excited for. I try really hard to not wish life away, but I do think that joy can be found in anticipation, and since I'm trying to cultivate a life filled with joy, I think it's OK to be excited about things to come.

In no particular order...

I'm excited for my vegetable garden. Sammy is a tremendous help in the garden, and I'm excited to get out in the garden again with him. I'm anticipating that lots of gardening will happen during Jack's morning nap this summer.

I'm excited for a summer rhythm. Last summer was an absolute blur of newborn bliss which was so wonderful. I'm excited to have slower mornings together and not have to rush out the door. This photo is from summer of 2022. I loved enjoying my morning cup of coffee while Sammy played outside.

I'm excited to eat dinner (or breakfast and lunch) outside. There's something so nice about dining al fresco, especially the easier clean-up that comes with it.

I'm excited for porch rocking. We have 2 rocking chairs on our front porch and I love to sit on the porch, drink an iced tea, and read a book. We'll see if my two busy boys let me do this this summer. Haha.

I'm excited for a "hair and makeup break." In the summer I rarely do a full face of makeup, and my hair ends up getting washed at night, and then it will air dry. I'm excited to take a break from my blow dryer.

That's it for today, see you back here tomorrow!

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...

Jackson Nicholas is TWO!

Jackson Nicholas is officially TWO years old today!  He's been so fun lately, and definitely showing off his two-ness. 😉 He's got a LOT to say.  He loves his big brother and wants to do anything and everything that he does.  He loves his family and talks about them all day long. He loves Mickey Mouse and can't wait for his next trip to the castle.  He loves to play outside! We'll be living in the backyard this summer.  He loves to EAT! This has been his biggest area of growth from this time last year. At his first birthday party, he was just able to eat single-ingredient foods due to his allergies - we just didn't know what was safe for him. Yesterday he was able to have a cupcake..with frosting!  Such a win!  We love him and his silly little personality. We can't wait to celebrate him today!
