Friday Favorites [4-25-2024]

I'm so glad to see Friday roll around this week. There are 24 more school "wake-ups" until summer and that sounds pretty good to this teacher. 😉

As usual, I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika to share some Friday Favorites. Here we go!

My first favorite is our very mobile Jack. He's been pulling himself up to stand on all sorts of furniture (or people), and he's also mastered the stairs. Sammy had zero interest in the stairs so this is brand new territory for us. I think baby gates are in our future. Haha.

We live in a fairly new houseing development, and there are several houses for sale a few streets over. On Wednesday there were open houses, and a taco truck was parked to bring more traffic to the area. We gladly took advantage and took a walk to grab our dinner.

Roo's little feet got tired, and she ended up riding most of the way home. Hahaha.

Sourdough continues to be a favorite around here. This past weekend brought us a pesto and mozzarella loaf, and some sourdough discard cookies.

Spiderman stopped fighting crime for one, and he approved. 😉

It is my firm belief that breakfast casseroles are too delicious to only be eaten on special occasion breakfasts. We had one over the weekend and it was a favorite for sure.

Swing rides are one of Jack's new favorite things. We put up Sammy's old baby swing and Jack couldn't have been happier! It makes me happy to see a baby swing on our porch again. 😊

I just finished "Darling Girls" by Sally Hepworth, and I am CONFLICTED about how I feel about it. This book tells the story of girls, who turn sisters, who were in the foster care system, and treated terribly. While I'm not sure how to feel about this book, I couldn't put it down. I literally read it in 24 hours. It was an addicting read!

That's all for this week! Have a great weekend, see you back here Monday! XX

  1. Oh wow! It doesn't seem that long until summer. I think we have a little longer.
Aww! Jack is just adorable. My girls used to be obsessed with the stairs when they were little.
How cool that there was a taco truck near you. What a great sounding evening.

Friday Favorites [10-4-2024]

Happy, HAPPY Friday!  I hate to even say it outloud, but Jack slept through the night two nights in a row this week. He's been getting so many teeth - all at the same time for about three weeks. This led to lots of broken nights of sleep for our boy. It is AMAZING how much better I feel getting a full night of sleep. Haha.  Needless to say, I'm feeling extra perky this Friday.  I'm linking up with Andrea  and  Erika  to share a few favorites from my week. 😊 Sammy's flag football team is the Chiefs, and so obviously his favorite dog supporter needed to get a matching outfit. Look at Sammy's red cheeks! We're ready for fall weather to arrive in full force over here. Haha.  This week was National Night Out in our town, and Dustin helped work it. I stopped by with the boys, and Jack was genuinely surprised to see so many people who looked like his daddy. He got so excited when he saw the first police car, but was disappointed his daddy wasn't inside. 😉 D...

The Brisel family is OFF!

I'm so excited to share that our family is celebrating the holiday season at our very favorite place...Disney World! This trip has been a long time coming. We have been saving and planning for over a year, and yesterday we [yes we...Santa doesn't get credit for this one 😉] surprised our boys with a trip to Disney World for their Christmas gift. Disney is truly Dustin and my happy place, so we couldn't be more excited to bring the boys!  While we're gone I plan to blog about our trip, so I'm hoping to share an update tomorrow evening. For some who may not know, I am working my way through the certification process of becoming a Smart Moms Travel Agent, which is a travel company that specializes in trips to Disney World. I'm hopeful that it might turn into a fun hobby that lets me share a little bit of my Disney knowledge with other families. 😊 I thought blogging our trip would be a fun resource to share with future clients! For a little recap of today... We wer...

Disney World: Day 5 Recap

Rest days are a necessity for any Disney vacation, no matter the length of your trip. 😉 We have been pushing it and hoofing it all over Disney World, so we were overdue! Our plans today included a character breakfast with Minnie and her friends, spending time at the pool, and a character dinner at 1900 Park Fare.  Both boys slept in until 7:00 which was amazing! We got dressed and ready and began our way towards Cape May Cafe located at The Beach Club Resort. We took the Skyliner from our resort to the International Gateway at Epcot. From there, we had about a 5 minute walk to our restaurant. Super easy!  This character meal is one of the lesser known options for character dining. We've done character dining at Topolino's Terrace (amazing!), Tusker House and Chef Mickey's, so we were excited to try something different. Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all dressed in their beach attire, and make their way around the restaurant several times. You're also able to do a ...
